Herts Hidden Heroines was a project produced by Anna Reynolds and run by trestle Theatre. It came out of a conversation Anna and I had about the missing women in history, I wondered why Boudicca wasn't mentioned very much in St Albans history, though she did sack and burn ancient Verulanium, still I thought it was odd.
So Herts Hidden Heroines took shape Anna worked with various partners and Trestle to gain funding and bring the project to life. It ran between 2015 and 2016 with the whole of Hertfordshire. Here are some of the workshops I devised and drawing/branding that I did to inspire further participation....

Here I drew the basis for a graphic novel about Boudicca Queen of the Icon, wronged by Rome and vengeful. We asked groups ranging from people who were temporarily housed to secondary schools what they thought that the dialogue should be and we found that a contemporary and interesting take on the scenes unfolding

Giant colouring page featuring many of the women we uncovered and discovered with ties to Hertfordshire. The information that we found has now moved to Herts Archives and can be continually added to.
