Light installations and lantern making are a real passion of mine and over the years I've been lucky enough to be involved in some wonderful site specific work and themed lantern projects. As well as making beautiful lanterns just for the sake of it!

ECHO AND NARCISSUS
Devised by Mel Brown with SPID THEATRE COMPANY in Kensal. Echo examined the themes from the greek myth of Echo and Narcissus and led people through lanterns and sound to find the clues to get into the final garden experience.A smaller version was devised to go to Latitude Festival.

An interactive lantern,  film  and sound installation devised by me for the then St Albans Festival.
A trail of clues and themes from the Magna Carta led participants through the streets of St Albans to finally arrive in the peace garden.

Appledore Visual Arts Festival - Theme Fire and Fury
I was commissioned by Appledore Visual Arts Fest to run workshops on the theme of Fire and Fury. I created a sun and participants made star lanterns on sticks to carry for the Saturday Night Extravaganza featuring Emergency Exit Arts

Ghostly pig for Spit and Polish promenade theatre site specific at The Old Town Hall in St Albans.
Why?! Well because  people were sent from the courtroom in around 1850 to 10 months transportation via clipper ship to Australia for stealing a pig!
